This question gets asked so often that podiatrists heads start to spin. Firstly, what is a bunion? What are your bunion-like symptoms related to? Orthotics can absolutely slow down disease progression of bunions and they can reduce the load occurring around the bunion joint. If this is what you need to consider an orthotic working for a bunion (and most do) then absolutely. What an orthotic cannot do is take a bunion where the big toe is significantly medially deviated (think crooked) and then push it back to a straight position.

They are unique. One (or two/three if you get multiple pairs) of a kind pieces of biomechanical engineering and sleek modern art. Considering how successful and the cost per wear over the lifetime of a device, they are very affordable.
