Medical pedicure in Melbourne CBD

By Tim Mulholland, Founder and Consultant Podiatrist · 21 October 2026

Gloved clinician supporting the heel and forefoot during a foot and skin assessment.

Thick toenails, painful corns or hard skin can make everyday shoes uncomfortable. If looking after your feet yourself has become difficult, our podiatrists can assess what's happening and help with the nail and skin care you need.

Sometimes called a medical pedicure or MediPedi, this is a podiatry appointment for your foot health and comfort. Nail polish and cosmetic nail art aren't included. There's no need to feel embarrassed about your feet.

What to expect

We'll ask what's bothering you and assess your nails and skin. Where relevant, we'll check circulation, sensation and other factors that affect your care.

Gloved hands supporting a foot while examining the toes and toenails.

Depending on what your feet need, treatment may include:

  • Trimming and filing thick or difficult toenails.
  • Reducing troublesome hard skin and treating corns.
  • Practical advice for looking after your feet between visits.

We'll explain what we're doing. If you also have foot pain, a wound or another concern, let us know when booking so we can arrange the right appointment.

Good hygiene matters wherever you receive nail care. At Pride, we use a dry treatment approach and infection-control procedures, including appropriately sterilised or single-use instruments, to reduce cross-contamination risk.

What isn't included?

Nail polish, shellac and nail art aren't included. If you have nail discolouration or other changes, we can assess them and discuss appropriate care. Some concerns may need a separate management plan.

How much does nail and skin care cost?

Nail and skin care appointments are 30 minutes. The fee is $185 with a consultant podiatrist or $160 with a senior podiatrist.

Private health insurance

If your extras policy includes podiatry, you may be able to claim a benefit. Your cover, waiting periods and remaining limits affect what your insurer pays. Your gap is our fee minus that benefit. Check your cover before attending.

Medicare

Medicare may contribute to clinically indicated podiatry if you meet the eligibility requirements and have a valid referral under an eligible care plan. Annual service limits apply, and an out-of-pocket fee may remain. Ask your GP or our team about the requirements before booking.
