COVID-19, the corona virus is officially a pandemic.
The advice from the World Health Organisation is to be informed and aware, but not alarmed.
Our team of podiatrists, physiotherapists and exercise physiologists are on hand to continue to offer you the level of care you’ve grown to expect from us.
That’s right, our gym is open and our treatment rooms are ready.
As information comes to hand about how we manage the virus as a community at PridePlus Health we wanted to offer you some reassurance about how we take the strictest precautions possible to ensure safe care for you and our team.
When dealing with a situation like this it’s up to all of us to do our part.
At PridePlus Health we are ensuring our strict standards of cleanliness, sterility and hygiene are adhered too.
Our clinical and non-clinical areas are wiped down consistently and hand wash and sanitiser stations are available for clients as well as staff use.
Our gym in Pascoe Vale might just be the cleanest in Australia with our Exercise Physiologist Mike ensuring equipment is wiped and cleaned between classes.
We’re also asking for your help as well.
If you’re suffering with flu like symptoms then please avoid arranging a one on one session with our team and book in with your GP for a check up.
UPDATE 16.03.2020
The federal government has announced a quarantine period of 14 days for those just arriving in Australia. If you have returned from overseas travel please call us and we can arrange another time or another modality of therapy provision (phone/online).
There’s also a few things that you can do at home which come second nature to us health professionals.
- Wash your hands (thoroughly for 20 + seconds) with soap and water regularly, especially if you have been out in public spaces
- Don’t touch your face
- Cover your mouth with your elbow or tissue when coughing or sneezing
- Don’t touch your face
- Use hand sanitiser often, but as supplies run low across Australia ensure when there is the option for soap and water – take it
We will be monitoring the advice from the WHO and the Department of Health closely. For people who have questions or queries about COVID-19 there is a hotline set up by the federal government to take your calls on 1800 020 080.
During times of hardship and challenge it’s amazing how well our community pulls together to look after and out for each other.
With everyone looking out for each other, following the advice of the experts and not touching our faces, we will work through this.
